At Cacao Barry we have always been challenging the status quo. We know that women form the heart of communities, playing pivotal roles in protecting children and diversifying household income.

When women are empowered, positive change becomes possible. 

Cacao Barry ignites mindshifts that bring empowerment.

Together with Cocoa Horizons, our aim is to bring lasting changes in cacao farming communities and the more than 40,000 women, who are registered in the program. 

A vital aspect of their empowerment involves establishing Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs). These associations serve multiple purposes, including bolstering self-assurance and offering financial solutions to members. Granting women access to financial services such as savings and loans marks the initial steps toward economic empowerment. This enables women to invest in their businesses, be it poultry farming, vegetable or rice cultivation, or supporting their children's education.
